Filip Barsan
President
The organization’s Founder and President, Filip Barsan, was born in central Romania and moved to the U.S. at the age of nine years. His parents and siblings live in the U.S. and travel occasionally back to Romania for visits and project activities. Mr. Barsan is the president of Barsan Corporation, a real estate asset management company based in Green Bay, WI. Filip is committed to making the world a better place, especially for children.
Vasile Barsan
Senior Vice-President
Vasile Barsan is the father of Filip Barsan and has been actively involved in faith-based activities in Romania and the U.S. for more than 25 years. Vasile has personally been involved in distribution of funds and services to impoverished Romanians.  He has been a church deacon and minister for Assembly of God Church in Romania and the past 10 years in Seattle, WA.  He is well known and respected for his ability to interact with organization leaders and volunteer networks. Vasile’s duties include oversight of actual delivery of funds and/or services from the U.S. to Romania.
Petru Morosan
Junior Vice-President
Petru Morosan lives in central Romania where he facilitates mission work across the country. Petru has many years of experience working together with Vasile in areas hit hard by long-standing poverty. Petru is responsible for identifying families with the greatest needs within Romania through social organizations and faith-based networks. When volunteers from U.S. travel on mission trips to Romania, Petru is their primary contact for meeting with families and organizations selected to receive gifts/services. He is also responsible for reporting back to the Senior Vice-President about challenges or problems as well as success stories.
Barbara Lee
Secretary | Treasurer
Barbara Lee, PhD is a research scientist in Marshfield, WI where she directs the federally-funded National Children’s Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety. Barbara previously served as President of a 501(c)3 organization, PlayZone Romania, Inc. that was dissolved in 2013 after completing its mission of building a major playground in central Romania. Barbara remains dedicated to addressing the needs of the many poor families of Romania, and the children being raised in less than optimal conditions. She is responsible for documenting and archiving all correspondence, meeting minutes, and records of services rendered. Treasurer duties include standard accounting practices of revenue and expenses with oversight by the President.
Mihai Schnell-Harrison
Member at Large
Mihai is a first generation immigrant and was adopted from Romania in 1994.
Currently, Mihai is the Managing Director of MSH Development Group, a real estate development and commercial brokerage firm headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Mihai's background is focused on multifamily investments and portfolio assessments.
He also volunteers as a high school basketball coach.
"The reason I am so passionate about working with Barsan Foundation is that I get to help children and families from in Romania. I have been blessed for an opportunity to begin my life in America and giving back to others is critical whether that is fundraising for food, clothing, care packages, playgrounds for schools, and so many other causes.
